I am at a 00. Do not think i plan on going any bigger. Unless i have a job at a tattoo place or a place that will allow me to have bigger ears then i will go bigger but in all realistic most likely not. my sister is lucky though. she can.
please do not mind the face, here is one with just my hole too. I did it the bad way...I had 18G and put in 8G, busted my ear and let it heal and then tapper-ed my ears so i do not have to buy anymore plugs till i got to the size i wanted and then stayed at a 00.

Looks smaller without the plug ahah

Then I'm tiny like a door mouse
    Short like a bungalow house
    Minute like a pixie
You can barely even see me

My primary holes are 0g and my secondary are 2g. I don't plan on going any bigger.

My helix was punched at a 2g with no plans to stretch it. It really hurts to stretch cartilage and I like it the size it is.

Be patient. Trying to stretch too fast and taking short cuts is how you end up with tears and "cat butt" ears. I've seen split lobes in person. They're gross and you don't want them.

Good luck! and check out this site they have some of the BEST jewelry out there at pretty good prices (they also have cheap second rate stuff) as well as a message board you could join. I forgot to add that they have all sorts of discounts available for ordering a lot and writing reviews of jewelry.

No vaseline. Jojoba oil is good for stretching, what I liked best for comfort when putting new tunnels or tapers in is water based surgical or "personal" lubricant...much more slippy, and will not hinder the healing process. No soaps or lotions either. I'm only at 00 , might go to 1/2... but after 4g tapers stopped working for me. Me left earlobe was pierced when I was younger and I got in a fight with a kid who ripped it almost clean out... so I have to stretch it very carefully. My favorite method is teflon tape (the ultra thin non stick tape you put on shower pipes to seal them better). It holds onto the tunnels well, and is so thin you can gauge super gradually, rather than risking a tear.

Make sure you are also not using acrylic/plastic jewelry while you are still stretching... it's bad for healing, and I've notice a much quicker/healthier heal with using teflon tape and/or stainless steel.

Have you looked at Tawapa, Diablo Organics or Maya Organics? Those three are incredible. Beautiful jewelry.

Re: ear stretching takes so loooooong

Get some heavier jewelry for your holes once they are healed up. Hematite is naturally pretty heavy. Once you get to around 0g, get some big hematite spirals and put them in. Your ears will be stretching in no time, without tapering.

And like the person up ^ mentioned, check out those sites. bodyartforms(dot)com is another awesome site for jewelry.

I love glass jewelry for stretching. Check out gorilla glass or glasswear studios as well. =)

I have no recent pics but I'm at 9/16 with one. I got a little overzealous with my right ear though and caused a minor blowout so I'm letting it go without for a little while and plan to restretch a little slower. I would highly recommend you go out and get some bondage tape. No not for anything kinky. it's basically just like PTFE or "plumbers tape" except it's MADE to be against your skin. No adhesive, no chemicals, etc. I used it to stretch and it helps the process along slightly faster than usual.

Another good alternative is weights. most are a bit pricey but they're well worth it and will help you stretch. in terms of keeping your lobes healthy and not thinning out, use both Jojoba oil and Vitamin E oil and massage them in daily. it SERIOUSLY helps keep your lobes nice and thick and healthy.

I spent so much a bodyartforms. I can't wear half of it though because I retired my septum and big lobes. I'm actually wearing some steel single flare 7/8" right now. First time in a long time. Pretty snig and a little sore but my 3/4" fall right out and I don't have any bondahe tape. I use emu and jojoba. Emu is my favorite....super soft lobes. It also helps to sleep "naked" when maintaing stretched anything....gives the stretch time to breathe and air out. My lobes never smell because of this.

I love my septum. I don't think I'll ever retire it because it's such an easy piercing to hide and forget about. Emu oil is amazing!
