Peatmoss as substrate

I was just wondering if peatmoss would work as a substrate or if there is something taboo about using it

I used it, the only problem is that it dries out instantly, and doesn't absorb water well..so when you go to re-moisten it, it sticks to the poor snake like all hell!

Peat moss is best used for inverts and amphibians. If you have humidity issues use Cyprus or coconut husk.

Right now we are using Eco Earth and like the results but I have a huge brick of peatmoss and was wondering if it would work. But fromn the sounds of it NO so thanks for the input as always guys

I also have a giant brick and wish I could use it, haha. But alas, I guess I'll need more inverts.
