Arrived home from work tonight and found 11 new pinks! First litter for any of my females, mom seems to be doing a very good job and the 3 other females are giving her the whole side of the 4ft long tank! I can even pet mom with no aggression from her

Read somewhere that yogurt is good for nursing moms so she got a nice bowl of yogurt and she also choose to share with the others.

Now I can't wait to see their colors show so I can see who the dad is lol

I had her with a beige hooded and an all black. If the mom is all white, what can I expect their colors to be if one or the other is the father?

Awesome, having moms that don't protect their young from you makes the whole rat breeding experience a whole lot nicer.

I don't do it for all of my mom rats but I do for any of them that look thin after delivering their kits. They LOVE yogurt.

You probably won't know, the one male is black and the other beige which is just a red-eyed black rat that has had it's coat diluted to beige from the red eyes. Most black rats carry red eye recessive so you really probably won't know.
Your litter should be blacks, PEW or REW whichever your momma rat is and beige.
If any other colors come up it's because you lucked out on matching recessive traits they may carry.

I usually just make sure the mother if getting alot of real grains, leafy green veggies, and some fruits while nursing. Some fatty foods are good for a nursing mother but use in moderation.

Dandelion greens are great for nursing mothers, there are vitamins in the leaves that help the mother produce lots of milk for the pups!

Just one or two leaves though, don't want to give her the runs!

Sooooo today two other female each had a litter (1 litter in each corner now) and I just checked on them and all the babies are mixed up in each corner lmao
I see no aggression as they are all taking a break in the middle sleeping on each other.

Unless anyone clues me into signs of trouble, I am just going to let them do their thing.
