    UTH/ Thermostats!

    Hey gang!

I would like to know more about UTHs and thermostats and all that stuff...
I have been told by many breeders and 1 herpetologist that the Temperatures and Humidity (ambient that is) in Puerto Rico are pretty much safe to have snakes without having to regulate their temperatures/humidity... HOWEVER...
I am currently studying in the hottest city of the island, and the nights get nasty hot, so I sometimes turn on the AC...

The humidity is way over 60% and temps USUALLY run around 85-95 degrees... Obviously he have hellish hot days (95+) and cold days here run on the high 70s (maybe during Christmas low 70s) (On the colder cities we get high 50's in Christmas, WHICH MIGHT Be my case (my house is on one of the cold cities, but we'll talk about that later))

    Now, back to the point...
Is this UTH any good? I'm thinking about getting the 10-20 gallon one (the tank I bought is a 10g, but I know I'll have to upsize later on)

Also, Is this something similar to a thermostat? If so, is it any good? Any other good (budget, yet nice) recomendations?

MODS PLEASE, tell me if this is inappropriate, since it could be considered SPAM, but however... i could consider buying used UTHs and Thermostats that any of you aren't using IDK, PM me, we could work something out via PP..

    thanks!!

Having used both, I still think THIS is a better option. I just like the even heating of the Ultratherm and it is lower wattage.

That isn't the same as a thermostat because there is no probe to monitor temps. THIS ONE is a great option on a budget.

This is NOT a thermostat or anything similar. This is a light timer and should NOT be used in place of a thermostat.

This Hydrofarm Thermostat is a good budget thermostat for a UTH.

You may want to keep this kind of thing in the Forsale / Wanted Section

    ^Perfect^

It would not hurt especially since you use the ac and gets in to 50's. Set the thermostat to 90-92 (not all the heat will get through the cage bottom) and if its too cold it will turn on. My house was hot enough a few weeks ago that it only turned on at night.

Ok, I am going to order the HydroFarm Thermostat, and the ZooMed ReptiTherm UTH tomorrow morning (my roommate is the Amazon guy, Im the ebay guy ) But I'll still be needing a thermometer and a Hygrometer... Budget recommendations?? (Im going lighter on the accessories/necessities since the snake I'll prolly buy is going to take a way bigger bite in my wallet ($250 more than what I was going to pay for the normal)

Are any of these products good for their price?
(Or better yet, which one is better)
    1- Hygrometer and Thermometer
2- Infrared Thermometer + separate Hygrometer
3- Probed Thermometer + separate Hygrometer

    thanks again

That one only measures in one spot, I recommend the one with the probe, indoor/outdoor
    THIS

EDIT: which I found at Lowe's for $10 and some walmarts have em ... that amazon price with the shipping is a little steep

It's similar to that, unless they changed the style. mine has indoor/outdoor temp display, and has a probe
