I saw that rat and wondered why on earth you'd have a rat running around outside a cage and not inside with a snake! I thought, "where's the snake - inside the cabnet too???"

    Great pics and nice setup!

Very nice setup! I love the pic of your cal king in her shed!! I'm just curious though... I noticed you don't use any clips or straps on the sides of your tubs... have you ever had a problem with escapes or does it seem to hold them in pretty well? I'm just wondering because I use binder clips along the sides of mine and I'm still always paranoid that it isn't enough haha Are the "latching lids" only secure for snakes up to a certain size?

Love your setup. Can't wait to have enough room to be able to have an awesome setup like that.
LOL the rat is a silly girl . Thank you ! A room definitely is worth it!

    Just leeetle bit

The Dumeril's I have is not in the reptile room so I didn't get a photo of her.

Thanks! Of course I do, she's in the hallway next to the computer though instead of the reptile room. She's also in shed so she wouldn't have looked as great with photos anyway

Thank you ! I've always had no problems with the lids that lock on both ends, but I have had escapees with the tubs that don't have the locking lids. I'm sure your tubs are just fine with the binder clips . The latching/locking lids seem to do well for all of my snakes of all sizes.. well, except for rather larger constrictors of over 5' (besides BPs & other small python/boa species).

I'm not sure about the ones in the photos, but a lot of new sterilite tubs come with a locking latch on each side that double for a handle.

Looks good, Tiff. I agree with MasonC2K, you need some racks! I used to stack tubs like you do and building a rack was definitely a smart move for us. I like the A. avic setup. Looks a lot like mine.

Must be a pain to have to unstack everyone to get to the bottom one.

The rats threw me off too. I don't think I could trust a free range rat. I'd be afraid they chew a wire.
Never had a problem with our rats chewing on stuff. Stealing food off our plates is another matter. They insist on being involved in (or into) everything we're doing. They mainly just like to explore and be nosy.

A lot of people who keep pet rats will let them run free. They won't disappear like a hamster will.
