Question for all you Leopard Gecko ownersss
Im interested in getting one buuut i wanna know about cost, cause they're not like a snake where you feed em once a week and they're fine. So How many leopards do you have, and how much do you spend a week on food for them?

mealworms are cheap, so maybe $5 every 2 weeks for 5 babies.

I honestly haven't completely worked this out as I've only had my leos for a week or two (I honestly can't remember right now >__<).
I have 3 leos and a fat tail that all eat mealworms. My female leos are trying to eat me out of house and home. I am going to guess I will be spending $5-10 a week on mealworms if my females keep eating the way that they do. A container of 50 mealworms seems to last between 2-3 days for me and cost about $2.10.

Hey there! We've got a few leos and to tell you the truth feeding them is really easy. We feed gut loaded meal worms and only have to buy every couple of weeks. We buy in bulk and put what doesn't get used in a tupperware in the fridge. We don't like crickets for obvious reasons (just in case; they are noisy and smelly and they can and will jump out of their containers and escape). I doubt you would need a box for just one leo though...When we first started we would buy the worms for our single leo at Petco...but as our collection grew so did our need to move away from the chain pet store.

I have 3, and it costs practically nothing to feed, I have a mealworm colony that I started almost 2 years ago. I also give an occasional pinkie from my asf colony.
Check out what's available at

I might be doing it wrong, but I try to make sure they always have mealworms available. I check once a day and my females seem to eat them all overnight no matter how many I put in their dish.

I have sixty plus leopard and fat tail geckos combined. I offer them mealworms in a calcium dish 24/7 and they eat quite a lot so at times you have to monitor their weight and adjust their feeding schedule.
For a handful of geckos it will not cost you much at all to feed. Buy them online at 1000 count and buy a smaller size then you need. Put 3/4 in the fridge and the other 1/4 room temps and they will grow fast. As they are fed off bring new ones out from the fridge a few weeks prior to needing them and they will get up to size quickly. Great way to gutload them as well.
Leos are awesome!!
