Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, I have hatched out my very first baby ball pythons, all healthy and happy and through their first shed!

Just for a backstory, I really goofed this up and was out of town for a couple of days when these guys were laid. When I arrived home, I found this:

Everyone on here was super helpful and encouraging, and I held out hope that they were going to be okay, since everyone had good veins, even the super-squished one on top. The rest of the eggs reinflated with good humidity, but that one never did, and I was always a little worried about it. Then, in July, we moved into our new house, and these guys had to come out of the incubator and into a cooler for an hour+ drive to the new place, so I was worried that would mess them up, too.

Just goes to show that these are highly-evolved, very adaptable snakes. All that trauma, and on Aug 13th, I came home from a party to find all 7 had hatched that day, all healthy, all perfect. This was from a Pastel x Fire breeding, and I'm a little bummed I didn't hit the combo, but I can't complain about the odds. They all finished shedding out yesterday, and I'm pretty sure that I ended up with 1.1 Normals, 2.2 Fires and 0.1 Pastel.

Without further ado, here's the whole clutch pre-shed (the large knot on the bottom left is two fires that were completely inseparable):

And here's everyone this morning:

Female Normal

Male Normal

Male Fire 1

Male Fire 2

Female Pastel

Female Fire 1 (this girl is hot!)

Female Fire 2

Thank you to everyone who's ever answered any of my noob questions and helped me get to this point. I really don't know how I would've done any of this without you guys. You rock!
