he should finish the shed himself but im mine still has big chunks left on 24 hrs after he actually started then i soak him and let him run through a rag and it comes right off. and its really up to the snake if it wants to eat in shed. mine has never refused food no matter how far into the cycle he is. its all about your pets preference.
