New here + Daytona Pick up

Hey guys just decided to join this site to share and gain knowledge about ball pythons with other snake enthusiast My name is Cameron and im from Florida and im currently a Sophomore in high school.

Just decided to get back into snakes after alot of thinking and got IMO a crazy pick up for just $40 for my first ever BP morph.

This is Anomaly. Hes a 2011 Cinnamon with no left eye. There were 2 other Cinnamons and a Pastel (all males) with anomalies from one vendor. 1 of the Cinnamons had no eyes, other with one eye, and the Pastel with a very small one.

Hers a pic of his missing eye.

Do you guys think him missing an eye will affect him for future breeding? I plan on pairing him with another Cinnamon or Pinstripe in the future. Better pics to come soon.

    -Cameron

I don't think the missing eye will matter for breeding, although I think it's cool looking as well as a beautiful snake in general. Also, welcome to BP.net

Yeah owner said hes eaten once and shed once. The other 2 Cinnamons were in shed. Hes very laid back but not to the point where he seems brain dead. I will give my first attempt to feed him (fuzzies) Wednesday.

    Thanks for the replies!

Personally I wouldn't use him for breeding. He is pretty looking though.

He's cute - for a pet. But I would never use an animal with a defect like a missing eye (proven to be passed on in boas, not sure in pythons, but sounds like it since this one breeder has so many defective animals for sale) for a breeder.

Enjoy him as a pet and if you get into breeding, use the best stock you can find.
