What would we get if we breed a pastel to an albino?

We are fairly new to ball pythons, having started out with corns. We have a pastel male and like the albinos. We were thinking about breeding in a few years. I dont know enough about the morphs to know what I would get out if that? Thanks

You actually can get "pastel albinos". A lot of the time these snakes are pretty difficult to tell apart from regular high-contrast albinos. It basically deepens the yellow and adds more yellow to their heads.

But that would require at the very least, parents being het albino.

You can't get a pastel albino. BOTH parents would need to either be albino or het for albino not just one of them. The OP is breeding an albino to a pastel so...pastel HET albino and het albino offspring. No visual albino offspring would be possible.

Oh gotcha, my bad, misunderstood you. It has always been my understanding that strictly an albino x pastel pairing will produce albino pastels, though I totally understand I could be wrong. Makes sense with albino being recessive, anyway.

Thanks for the answers. I don't know all there is to know about genetics and morphs. Found a book that looks pretty helpful, gotta order it though. So what would be the best match for a pastel to get something cool? We dont know our males background, we adopted him. He is roughly 3 years old. We love him to pieces tho!

there are quite a few websites out there for genetics with BP's. Keep in mind albino is a reccessive gene....meaning you have have have to have at least 2 recessive genes to make a visual.
