    IS this a good deal?

Ive wanted a crestie for a while, I think i would like a couple breeders and just casually breed them as i do leopards.
Well someone on a local classifieds has this guy for sale...

It would be great for my first crestie i think, and then if i like him I can get into breeding.
The guy wants $50 for just him. Is that a good deal?

Cresties vary in price greatly anywhere from free on local ads up to hundreds of dollars..... He/she is worth whatever you are willing to pay
I have one very similar size and color to the one in the pic I paid $40 from a local breeder

$50 is a perfectly fair price, though for some reason "pet" quality crested prices have settled at $40-45 for some reason. No reason to bicker over a measly $10 IMO

That one has a VERY attractive tiger/brindle pattern to my eyes, and if it colors up nice and keeps the contrast with the pattern, could be worth twice or three times asking price.

It also looks to be the pinnacle of hatchling health.. much better going with that guy than saving a few bucks and picking up one from petco.

Crested geckos are great, while I don't feel a need to have a collection full of them, I quite enjoy having one or two females producing each year

OMG too right I had a gorgeous one from Petco but it had all kinds of internal issues needing parasite meds etc

I agree completely with mainbutter. It is only a good deal if you like the pattern and color of the little one. Just because someone is charging $500 doesn't make it your perfect gecko, and just because it is $10 doesn't make it ugly to you. If you like it and are willing to spend the money, go for it.

Crested Geckos are an amazing little reptile to have around.

Great! thanks guys for the information.
Ive just never owned a crestie and Ive enjoyed having and breeding my leopards so much that i would like to expand into other geckos.
I dont have any reptiles that are more tropical so the husbandry for the crestie will be fun for me.
I think he looks like a cute little guy so I just wanted to get opinions from you guys if he looked healthy and was worth the price. Thanks for the great input!
