I figured I could take some time to post up newer photos of critters, for no other reason other than that I'm bored while on "staycation" from work (read: Too broke to go traveling).
Here's Buffy, the Cali King. A little shy but curious, and you've got to be quick to catch her when you want to get her out of the tank. She chills out with me very quickly, though, and stopped musking me a long time back.
This is Chew, a Solomon Island Ground Boa. He was my first, and my worst feeder (no surprise to fellow Candoia keepers), but his appetite is back in force. He comes down from his branch when he's ready to hunt... or ambush.
Vincent is my normal Ball. He's the guy you'd take to a classroom to show kids that snakes are cool as all hell get out. 'Cause that's just who he is. I clean him out first then let him roam in the room while I take care of his neighbors. I keep an eye on him, but he's usually content to just hang out on the bed.
"Come clossser," said Vincent to the fat little rat...
My latest addition, January. She's a Dumeril's boa, and has the good-natured temperament this species is known for. She's a little one still, at maybe 1-1.5 years of age, but she thinks like a big snake already: She's confident and inquisitive, but cautious and docile. Here's January the weather girl (meter since relocated):
And January the librarian:
Finally, this is a quick shot of the herp corner. Left is Chew's place, big tank on top is Buffy's, and the bottom one is Vincent's. January is kept in the living room in a quiet spot.
