Whats the best substrate for a natural forest floor look?

Hey guys, I'm trying to do the whole forest floor look in my viv for my bp, but whats best? I want to use a form of bark or simuliar, and also moss for looks and humidity too.

As i'm trying to create a more natural home feel fo her and looks!

Any best ideas please?

I have 2 rain forest vivariums for my crested gecko and my mountain dragon, I am using coconut fiber. for my ball I am using coconut chunks with coconut fiber (stops my BP from digging).

in my 2 rain forest vivs, I have a fogger and a custom made rain system on timers. and one sometimes twice a week I will move one of the rain jets from the crested gecko viv over to my bp viv and let it rain for about 1-2 minutes humidity is always a solid 55% - shed time I will open the valve on the fogger and let it fog to maintain a 65% (just until his eyes clear up).

one thing I have noticed that when putting reptiles in a pure natural viv, they tend to show their wild traits. when I was finished with my crested viv, after about a week, he nolonger wants out and will take off and hide behind some vines in the back so that it makes it hard for me to get him out, once I close the door, he will come back out and play. my mountain dragon will jump off me and run back to the viv. they love them and never want out. that's OK my BP loves to come out and play, he is not head shy and never balls up when being held.

cypress mulch looks realy natural but it bumps my humidity to 90% now i have uth so i use aspen now

Dude im very interested in the fogger/rain system you have. Could tell me what it is you use and how you built it? Wouldnt mind doing something like instead of hand misting every other day, lol ( being lazy )

I find that repti-bark and cypress mulch both work well and look much more natural than aspen shavings. Just keep an eye on humidity; soil substrates that are kept too wet can cause scale rot.

Cypress mulch is deff my favorite natural look but I can't use it becuase I use bins, and the humidity will go WAY to high, but since your going to use a vivarium I guess it works, just be sure to buy a hydrometer

Coco coir (eco earth) looks much like natural forest floor to me cyprus is just chipped wood it looks ok but if you want a fairly natural look coco coir and if you mixed in some cleaned leaves and some 'forest bark' That is actually a course ground coco coir. It would look very very natural.

I used Eco Earth in the pick below just make sure to stir it up once in a while to keep mold from growing
