what thermostat should i buy
what thermostat should i buy it needs to be reliable, reasonable price (not expensive not to cheap), and most of all for a rack system i just couldn't forgive my self if i found 2 snakes fried because of a thermostat failure.

Grounded is for any metal on the rack, which mine does. Proportional thermostats are generally better, although it's a personal preference kind of thing. Proportional thermostats use just enough power to keep the temp at whatever you set it at, and on/off thermostats use full power to heat it up, then shuts off at the temp you set it at, then turns back on when it reaches a certain degree. IMO proportional is always better, but on/off ones are generally cheaper.

Another +1 for Herpstat, and proportional thermostats in general.
Fair warning, thermostat posts tend to open up a can of worms, I hope your thread doesn't get hijacked.

My herpstats were only $100 each, thats not too bad considering what it can do to leave you worry free.
