Ball Pythons that defy the ball python logic?

I own a little female normal ball that goes against everything I read about ball python behavior on this website. Anybody else have one that goes against all the things that everybody says how they should act? She's not scared, she isn't head shy, she actively comes towards my hands, to crawl up when i go to get her out of her cage. It's just weird to me being a first time snake owner and the snake not act like how people describe them here.

Every animal is an individual! Some ball pythons are even mean rather than the sweet ones we hear about, and some of the naturally considered 'mean' animals can be much more docile. Just like you might hear that all people from such and such place(new york, the south, another country, etc etc) act a certain way, we're all individual people and will all act a little different. You might just have a much more confident ball python

My albino baby is just like that, and only 76g. Always comes shooting out of the enclosure, never has bitten, and has no fear. Prefers live strangely.

Re: Ball Pythons that defy the ball python logic?

Yea, My girl isn't scared of anything, I have 4 different hides in her cage, and I don't even have to look for her when I open the cage because she usually comes out of where shes hiding and comes towards my hand. Mine also likes live, tried the f/t thing and she refused. This snake is so unlike the snakes i read about on here, that if i was to have bought the snake and had her for a while and then found this site, I would have been like...you people don't know what you are talking about..lol..

my little guy is pretty much wat everyone thinks of in a bp except that he likes to roam his cage all the time and usually isnt hiding except for in the morning. glad to say he has accepted every meal and will eat f/t if i cant find live. also has never hissed or striken at me. he only striked at my roommate when he went to put him back in his tank but that was the first week i had gotten him.

so far my BP does not go in his hides very often. I tried boxes and now plastic bowls. Temps are good and humidity and he ate his first meal yesterday since I had him with no problem.
Instead of going in the hide he goes behind it up against the glass and the hide with his head poking around the corner, so I guess he is comfy there

I've learned that every snake has its own personality, just like dogs and cats. They may have common traits being the same breed, but are individuals. I have a silver streak that will come right up to you and snuggle in - totally different from my other snakes. Some seem to like human contact and others could care less.

All of my ball pythons are pretty anti-bp if you know what I mean none of them have ever skipped a meal (except my big male who doesn't eat in shed), they all pound food like there's no tomorrow, and none of them are overly shy.

My male normal (the first one I got) is not head shy at all! I can literally put my hand under his chin and lift his head up, scratch the top of his head, anything! My female YB is getting to be like that too, and my male POG is still pretty new so I can't tell for sure, but he doesn't seem too bad right now. Hooray for non-bp ball pythons!
