Im just not sure why they dont host it internally. i mean a basic linux system can run it for them no problem. but I guess there are certain security overhead things to consider like patching and keep the function of the site the same. but perhaps just do a temp local hosting of the current config and change the DNS until its back would work. Also it would make BP people like us happy.

I have quite a lot of servers (given I own a web game company) so if they needed somewhere to chill for a while I could offer up some space. I wonder what kind of bandwidth they burn per month.

Also depends on their connection. They may not have a good enough connection to handle the kind of traffic that that thing brings. Also unless you are hosting a lot of websites it is a lot easier and the main point less of a headache to just pay a company. If something happens all you have to do is make a phone call or chat. No need to know a lot about computers and servers to fix it.

connections for a site like theirs doesnt require more then 10mb up(overkill really). which is nothing by today's standard.

I guess i just take for granted thats what i do for work. It is not a problem for me to pop a server up at a moments notice. I just want them back online again so i can keep doing some much needed reading.
