    Re: Never saw THAT coming!

My female got dark at around 800g. She is at 1000g now. Not sure what I'm gonna breed her to now. Originally I was thinking butter, but now not so sure. Maybe my chocolate.

    Re: Never saw THAT coming!

I love enchi's too, and bought this girl several years ago. Unfortunate circumstances, and she's not in my collection - I still mourn for her. She was hands down the hottest enchi I've ever seen or held. Probably why I still keep her as my logo.

It sure FELT like people were ignoring them for several years, but I was on a mission when I picked her out.

Now I have this hot male, who hopefully will give me some girls this year and some really sweet enchi combo's. His date card has a het pied and pied female this year (he's possible het pied) and probably two other girls. So while fingers are crossed for some really nice combo's (an enchi pied would make my day), getting a nice hot reduced pattern enchi female from him would be what I wished for most.

I love enchi's and enchi crosses! I got a female enchi last year, and this year I am hoping to get a enchi cross of some sort (perhaps a Mo-Chi) to go with her

    Re: Never saw THAT coming!

Bruce those are absolutely killer Enchis, I really like them.

My Enchi Female just passed 1500gr and has a date with the Hidden Gene Woma Granite Yellowbelly, hoping for the Enchi Woma YB out of that pairing.

Our other Enchi female went on a hunger strike for a bit, she just passed 800gr.

We also held back all our Enchi females we produced this year, we fortunate enough to get 1 Pastel Enchi female out of 3.

The Enchi combos are some of the best, was definately under appreciated for some time.

    Re: Never saw THAT coming!

I have 7 in my collection and am adding two more holdbacks this year.

A nice enchi is worth every cent.
Bruce you need to start sharing with other (ME) instead of keeping them all for yourself

    Those are some sexy enchis

NICE enchis are awesome! There are a lot of bland enchis out there though. Not as many as there are bland pastels though! But man, I love what enchi does to other morphs. I enjoy when people use both pastel and enchi, lol or just try to get as many of the 'yellow' ish morphs all in one snake..Pastel..yellowbelly..enchi..fire..etc etc

I, too, am kicking myself that I didn't A. pick up a bunch of Enchi females a couple of years ago; I think they were actually in the $400-500 range then, and have actually increased in value! ... Or B. picked up a stunning example of a male and just made myself a bunch of females. :/ Oh well, hindsight and whatnot ... and I guess I could still pick up that male.

I mean, I love the Enchi girls that I have ... I just want more of 'em!

Seeing what happened with the Enchi market, I can't help but think that maybe it's a bit of an example of why some of the bigger breeders do the kind of "stealth marketing" that they do. To give an example, one of the hottest genes out there (and still way up in price) is the "hidden-gene" woma. ... But that's not really because it's a wild and crazy looking morph, like the banana; it actually looks so similar to a run-of-the-mill $200 morph (regular woma) that for a long time it was thought they were the same thing. They're in such demand because NERD showed us all of the wicked stuff you can make with it ... Before releasing any to the market. Now everybody wants that secret ingredient.

I can remember reading a few older posts, though, where people just thought that Enchi was another line of pastel. Their true potential to produce wicked stuff wasn't really shown until after they were already all over the market -- and priced fairly cheap for a new morph, since no one knew what they could do.

... I agree, too, that the USA seems to have a lot of very "blah" Enchis (I did have another female at one point, but she looked like a banded normal -- not that I don't love those, too! -- so I traded her). It seems to me that I see pictures of European Enchis and many of those are way nicer. I'm sure that didn't help promote the morph much, either.

That's my market speculation, anyway ...
