    Questions about black eyed lucy

    Hi all,

I haven't been around much lately, but since my last visit here I've gotten my ball breeding up and running, and have had some wonderful surprises along the way.

Last year I had my first clutches, but this year my beauties got me asking questions.

The first baby of this year:
Tadaa! A teeny-tiny black eyed lucy came out! These pics are just after her first shed.

What I was wondering is the way she looks, she has lots of yellow, which at first I thought to be undesirable, but then read the description from constrictors.com website, it says the "extreme yellow" like mine is a desirable trait, is this a generally recognized fact that everyone agrees on? And the faint dark spots, I've seen a picture of another similar snake which had those too, is this common in lucys with yellow?

Another thing about the fire*fire breeding, can I get medium yellow and even pure white ones from the same parents that produced this one, or even from this beauty when she grows up? She's definetely a keeper.

It's really up to the individual. Just like some people love high white pieds and some people love low white pieds. Some people want that 'pure white' snake, while others need a little color/pattern to grab their eye! I think it's sort of random with genetics like pieds, but I'm not sure.

Yours is so pale yellow, it's neat!! I can't wait to see this one get a little bigger!

That is a super nice super fire. I personally like them to have some yellow. I hope to make my own in a year or two!

You CAN get random effects from repeating the same breeding to my knowledge.
