    Ball Python Bit During Feeding

The previous owner of the snake said that he only eats live mice, so I am going to slowly transition him onto frozen thawed mice. Well I fed him this morning and the snake got bit on his neck about 2 inches from his head. I can see his flesh through the skin, it's about half a centimeter wide and I'm a little worried. What is procedure when a snake gets bit?

That doesn't sound like to bad of a bite. I would keep his enclosure clean and maybe even keep him on newpaper or paper towels unitl the wound heals. You can get some neosporin without pain reliever in it to put on the wound. The wound should heal up just fine after a couple of sheds.

Well we just had bacitracin that I used on my hand when it got burnt and I put it on the snake. I looked it up and tons of people say it's fine.
