Sorry if I'm bothering anyone. I'm new to snakes and getting into them a lot. I just wanted to share the two photos I don't want to piss any one off or intend too.
Wow they are illegal he never told me that I don't know what to say or do.

Nothing much you can do or say, I think people where just pointing out that this is in fact a Burmese and not a Ball Python. As for people saying you're a troll, you can't really blame them, there have been a few lately...

Part of the issue is that we are very sensitive to the problems facing our community--there are a lot of people with fear of snakes, and a harmless BALL python (which is usually 3-5 feet) is often confused for burmese pythons by people who don't know better--that makes people think ball pythons will grow 20 feet, when they cannot. When a ball python is found and people think it could grow to 20 ft...the people who find it will kill it. Which is unnecessary!! That's like saying a yorkie is gonna be as big as a great dane, not gonna happen! We don't like those falsehoods and as such the community is sensitive to posts like that(claiming a big burmese was a ball python, an animal we know to be small and manageable) so people get a little defensive!
But glad you know now! Ball pythons are little, burmese pythons are big!

Welcome to BP.net.
That's a burmese python(like others have said) and in NYC I believe they are illegal unless he has a permit(which means the police will confiscate it and fine him, unless he turns it in to a shelter first).
A 50g tank is really small for him to keep it in also.
Ball pythons only get to about 5-6 ft fully mature, so they wouldn't ever get that big.
Some boas are bitey(any snake can just be bitey) so it's not necassarily that it's mistreated that it tries to bite. Some snakes just like to strike. Anyone who has snakes and handles them on a regular basis has probably been struck a few times. That means nothing, really. Even the best cared for snake will occasionally strike, either because it thought there was food, it was going into shed and just couldn't see... or it just felt like it right then. It's part of being a snake.
If you're interested in keeping any reptiles, you should first find out what the laws are in your area where you live. That way you don't fall in love with the idea of owning any particular species THEN find out you can't. Better to know what's legal and look at those.

People like this (the photo) are part of the reason they are trying to take our snakes away from us. Please tell him that Burmese pythons are illegal in NY. If he thought it was a ball python, he needs to surrender it to a rescuer anyway. Not only is he housing it wrong since there is no glass aquarium which will safely and securely contain an adult Burmese, but if he does not even know what he owns, or that he owns an illegal animal, he would be better off with a dog.
