When a Monitor lizard uses your neck as a branch

Hello everybody! well I have been really inactive because I have been setting up my new fish's HUGE aquarium. I also had to move a bunch of furniture around.

But anyway, I thought i'd show you guys what happens when a Savannah Monitor climbs your neck

This did hurt. a lot. 1'' claws digging into flesh = your not going to have a good time!

    Lesson learnt.

    LOL

HOLY COW! That looks like it hurt! I've been thinking about getting a monitor, but it was actually always the nails that frightened me I guess it was with good reason lol.

    Yes, it was pretty painful

I realized that some of his nails were digging in so I took him off but he already got a few gashes in before I could react

Oh well, comes with the hobby I guess

You could clip its nails? That's what I do when my lizards nails get sharp or long, guess I'm the only one.

ehh, no point really. this is the first time its happened and I assume its not gonna be a common occurance so, I'll just learn from my mistake and stop him from climbing me

    Yeah just use caution.

One time my super old iguana tried to eat my face off when I had her on my shoulder. Probably one the scariest moments of my life. She got super aggressive in her old age but I didn't learn that until she used all of her might to launch a full scale attack on my face.
