    New spider ball python

I know spiders are known for the wobbles, this is my third ball python and it's also my first morph.

he's been eating great, I have about 3 meals in him once a week since I got him. 3 weeks ago. The first was a live hopper mouse and the last 2 have been F/T small weaned rats. I have yet to see this wobble which the seller said "small noticeable wobble"

Tonight I'm watching him and he's moving all over his enclosure since it's dark now and all my snakes do the same thing, however, he's going full circle up and over himself. Exactly like the wobbles I see when they get excited but do they act like this all the time when they are active? He ate about 4 days ago, nothing was making him excited. And when I flipped him over he did not make any attempt to right himself up. "Although this is my first time handling him so he may have been on the defensive.

I know the symptoms of IBD but then I know this is also a spider known for this. Am I over reacting?

    Welcome to the forums!
My spider does something similar, she will follow the sides of the tub until she reaches the lid and then follows that upside down until she rights herself. I dont believe this is something serious, she is one of my best eaters and will do just a slight wobble at times of eating.

But as far as IBD in your snake as long as hes eating normally and he doesnt lose weight I think theres no need to worry right now. But it is something to read up on and be educated for. IMO.
And i am NO expert in IBD.

Sounds like a typical spider to me! Good eating and quirky. Your spider sounds like it displays some corkscrewing by what you're describing. They will show some, none, lots of anything inbetween. I wouldn't worry about it!

    Regards,

Welcome. My spider is the only one of my snakes that will follow the lid upside across the lid. It look strange but it doesn't affect her health. There are a few threads about IBD, but I am not an expert on it. Enjoy your new spider
