A new addition to the BP.net fam....

So I worked today. (I work from home btw). In walks my boyfriend with a 20 gallon and a big ol BP. My boyfriend knows nothing about snakes. LOL. He said that he found it on craigslist for free, and he wanted to surprise me with it but he actually likes the snake a lot so he is claiming it as his and has named it Larry. Sweet. So now maybe he won't think I am such a weirdo sitting on BP.net reading about snakes all day.

Anyway, he's got a lot of stuck shed. Weight doesn't look bad but haven't weighed him yet. He is very friendly, very curious. Seems to have a good demeanor. They had him with a heating pad, on aspen and those dinky plastic temp gauges. The guy said his son got it but lost interest. So now we have him. Boyfriend tried to plug him in without setting his heat pad on a t-stat and I explained to him that he can't do that. It's one of the smaller zoo-meds but obviously, t-stat is still necessary. While trying to explain this importance to my boyfriend and looking the snake over, I found a good example of why the t-stat is needed, which I believe is a previous burn. I'm not sure, but it scared my boyfriend enough to make him run an extension cord from my t-stat to his heating pad in the quarantine room.

    Anyway, some pics below!

All cleaned up (minus the stuck spot on his head-I've given up on it. Tried soaking, bumping humidity, damp sock and pillowcase, lol)
We've changed his name to Noel. He is the sweetest lil thing ever.

He has some pretty blushing on his head, which surprised me because his head seemed darker when I got him. He's also got a bunch of nice blushing on his body and some flames. I like the long stripe towards the end of his tail. It also looks to me like the scar seems smaller compared to the pics I took the day I got him

Just wanted to do a little update!
