Snake wont eat rats?

Hi. My BP Mitch has problems with rats... She is pretty big and can eat rats, but for some reason i have soo many feeding problems when i try to feed her rats, she dosent like to eat them! My local rat supplier has been out of small rats for a while so i picked up 2 mice to try it out. She ate them RIGHT AWAY!@!!RADASDOMGWTFBBQ! When i put a perfect sized rat in her enclosure she will sniff it, and stalk it for a while, and then go back in her hide. Sometimes she will eat it. But with mice she just slams them down! why is this?

Some ball pythons are just very picky eaters. My male normal went through a phase like this. He only ever wanted to eat mice and now all of a sudden he will eat rats or mice, he doesn't seem to care anymore.

Try starting her out on a pup or weanling a few times then move up from there, could be intimidated

My Mojave had to have her est put in a mouse tub for about 24 hours for the longest time. Then one day I just give her the rat and now she snubs mice

if you know it will eat mice, then it's not in feeding strike mode, it's just picky.
How do you stop a child from being picky? don't give it options.
Your snake sounds like it's curious about the rat, but unconvinced. Skip a meal, try the rat again. If the same thing happens, skip two meals and try again.
Now, there are some snakes that will lose a game of feeding chicken. I recommend seeing if your can break your snake into eating rats.
You could even try scenting the rat with the mice.
