2 head scales came off in shed.
I will post pics but 2 head scales from between his eyes came off in this shed. I have never had this happen and am going to figure out why. Temps are great and humidity is fine. I was inspecting his shed which I always do when any of my snakes shed and when I unrolled it to his head I found 2 scales in it. I looked at him and sure enough he is missing them on his head. Do I need to put ointment on him or just leave it be and figure the scales will come back with future sheds? This one has me puzzled.
Too many snakes to list. Ball pythons, Gtp's and Boa's. It easier to say it that way.

They will grow back, it happens sometimes.

x2^^
Scales will grow back over time. I've had this happen to a couple snakes and they all healed just fine.

Should I put anything on him or just make sure everything is extra clean? Thanks for the quick responses also.

Hmm, bizarre. I wouldn't worry about it, you could put the non- painkiller neosporin on it if you wanted to. I'd only do that once though. Just keep him clean

Ouch! That's a few layers deeper than my little pastel, who lost about five scales on his head a month or so ago. His were mostly superficial, but it happens at varying degrees I suppose.
1.0 Pastel
1.0 Spider
1.1 Citrus Ghosts
0.1 Albino
1.0 Normal
0.1 Red Blood Python
1.0 Corn Snake
0.1 Hognose
1.2 Crested Geckos
0.1 Leachianus

I have had one do the same as long as it is just scales and no cut in the skin under the scales you don't need anything just keep and eye on it and a shed or two down the road they will be gone. Check your humidity, often it happens when the snake is trying quite hard to get the shed off it might be a touch low. Also check the edges of the interior of the enclosure in my case I found a little sharp place on the hide entrance.
