Question Do I feed if he is going into a shed?

I think Vader is going into his first shed with me but tomorrow is feeding day so I don't know if I should offer him food tomorrow or not.

No, skip feeding day until next week.
When a snake sheds the skin over their eye is clouded, they cant see hardly at all.
If you try feeding while a snake is "in blue" most of the time you get defensive strikes.
He will be completely fine missing a meal.

Re: Do I feed if he is going into a shed?

Thanks I was thinking that was the way to go. Yesterday and tonight he has been striking a lot because he can't see what's going on around him. I misted his cage and am hoping for a good shed. I don't know how long it takes.

I agree...once the eyes go blue I skip beyonce's meal. They usually dont want to be bothered anyway. Then when she has shed I take her to pick out her meal

Just some advice, make sure you keep an eye on the humidity. If it is not hovering around 70 I suggest placing a well misted towel over 75% of the top of the enclosure. This will help them have good and complete sheds.

    Good luck,

    Your welcome!
depending on the snake itself and the humidity it can vary. You shouldnt have to mist the cage really. Some snakes will soak in their dishes before a shed as well. Thats why its important to have a water dish large enough for the snake to fit into. The snake knows if it needs that extra moisture or not.
You will see your snake go into a very instense cloudy blue for a couple days then it will go away, she may seem almost normal looking, then the snake will shed. Until you find snake skin in the tank she hasnt shed yet. Make sure she has something rough like a decoration or a rock that she can start her shed on. And you will have one sharp looking snake in a few days
