I made my comment because most redtail's I've seen max out at around 8'. The Hogg Island pair I saw at the show was 12' + easily.

Unless they were mislabeled at the show ? Is there another species with a similar name that gets bigger ?

Maybe people don't call them red tails but they are BCI as well, just a specific locality. I think the ones you saw must have been mislabeled. My understanding is that they average 4.5 to 6.5 feet.
