    Rescue baby ball python ?

I got this baby after he escaped from the tank at petco and got stuck to a mouse trap. They took it to a local vet and they pretty much just ripped it off. I want to do all I can to help this guy have a happy life. Any suggestions to help his side heal. BTW its current weight is 88 grams and he has been eating two mice weekly while they had him. And it is alert and active but seems to be breathing a little heavy.

I'm sorry, I don't have any advice for you, but..

    Please get better, little guy!

Oh my, I think I just felt my heart implode.

    Unhappy

I know that's why I'm gonna try my best to get him back happy. But he don't seem stressed or anything. But he is in shed right now so he won't eat. I just feel so sorry for him

holy crap.... ok so advice.....tough one

keep it on just newspaper or something clean and that wont get stuck to the wound. antibiotic ointment can be applied but do it sparingly. feed smaller sized meals. you dont want it to put extra pressure on the wound. and I wouldnt feed it for a week or so give it time to start to heal... then feed slightly more frequent and again smaller meals. fresh water at all times and DONT HANDLE it unless needed for treatment.

now i am not sure if that is the best things to do but that is my best guess/advice/what i would do.

    good luck

A clean sterilized dustless setup, with paper substrate. A small water dish so he can drink but not soak.
Betadine on the wound, don't use anything petroleum based on him.
I would get him to a Herp vet asap.

i feel bad for the little guy...i am no pro at bps but if i were you i would put some neosporin (kind with no pain killer in it) on it a few times aday...and use newspaper as substrate and clean the cage daily really good...keep moisture down to prevent infection...well it looks like its in shed cuz of the eyes but after it sheds keep humidity down...other than that good luck...hope he turns out ok...like i said im no pro so hopefully the helpful more experienced bp owners and breeders will give some advice...and correct anything i have missed

He is breathing hard because he is stressed. Put some neosporin without the pain killer on the injury daily. Don't forget to check out the care sheet in the forums page. Congrats on giving this poor little guy a chance at a better life.

He is on paper. And this happens two weeks ago and they took him to the vet. Vet said to spray with something they gave me with the snake. He looks a lot better than he did two weeks ago and is more active.
