    Caught in the act!!

Nearly 3 weeks after her "due date," Nerissa has finally laid her eggs... well, at least she WAS laying when I had to leave for work. Yeah, literally 10 minutes before I had to leave this morning, I found her IN THE ACT of laying #1 - which looks good and healthy, from what I could tell. We had a meeting at 11am sharp (the time I go in to work), so I really did have to snap a couple pics and run out the door. Now I'm stuck here until 8pm, and sooooo anxious to get home and check on the final tally/condition.

Btw, I decided to have them incubated at East Bay Vivarium (Berkeley CA), since it wasn't feasible to do it myself this season... they have incubation services for $25, and will also buy any/all babies right out of the egg. And wish me luck on getting her to eat asap, since she's a super problem eater & hadn't fed for 6 months prior to now - wasn't going to breed her even though she's technically heavy enough, but an early-season lock apparently did the trick. I'll get her a fresh pre-killed rat (she prefers p/k or f/t over live) at EBV tomorrow, and hopefully that will spark her interest. Anyway, here are the pics!!

P.S. She was bred to a Mojave & Pastel, but I'm pretty sure the Mojo will win this round (again).

Thanks all! I got home a little while ago, and found her tightly coiled around (I believe) five large non-slug eggs. All look beautiful and plump, but I can't candle them until tomorrow - since I'll be leaving her alone until I can get to the vivarium. Or is there a way to candle while she's on them? Hmmmmm. Anyhoo, here they are!

I had to peel her back to get a count - she hissed but didn't strike.

P.S. Do you think she'll be okay incubating them until tomorrow afternoon? I put in a tub of damp sphagnum moss a few days ago, so the humidity's around 82 right now... also turned down the temps a little, to probably just under 90 on the hot-spot. Sound good?
