    mocha to phantom breeding

Ok you all, just getting some opinions here from my friends.

I have a super mocha and a phantom. There was a similar pairing which was a het russo x phantom done. The het russo is similar to a mocha.

that cross produced this, the opal diamond.

So do I take a chance which I may just end up with a white snake or go for a def. with a mojo male and male purple passions? Love to hear some feed back.

    Re: mocha to phantom breeding

    Hi,

I don't see a white snake that can only throw mochas and phantoms as a booby prize.

But that snake pictures is stunning so I would really want to see if I could hatch some.

And if you don't then you added a little bit of knowlege to the BP genetics - how can that be a bad thing?

I agree with Dr. Del, I don't see how an all white snake that throws two awesome morphs is a bad thing. It's up to you, but I'd give it a shot. You'll never know til you try.

I already said this on G+, but from what I've seen of mochas and het russos (as well as their homozygous forms), I firmly believe they are most likely the same mutation. I'm willing to bet you'd get something with a bit of pattern on it like that opal diamond. If nothing else you will at least be able to prove whether or not mocha and het russo are the same thing and make some pretty powerful white snakes. You'd always have the next season to make purple passions, which will never cease to be popular. Phantom likes to add pattern and colour to anything in the BEL complex, so it's more likely than not that you'll get something that isn't pure white. My vote: Pair up the super mocha and the phantom!

I'd definitely go with the Opal Joe that snake is amazing.

I wouldn't think twice I also believe the mochas are very close to the het russos.

I will be cutting eggs from a mocha x karma spider (lesser, phantom, spider) sometime next week. I hope to get something like that opal diamond with spider pattern thrown in for good measure!!!

Ok, peeked in the eggs from my clutch and we saw one light spider plus 2 "white" snakes. That's a good thing because I figured even if I hit the mocha phantom it's gonna look white in the egg and then color up. We'll see. I'll keep u guys updated.
