    breeding question

    whats the diferents between breeding an "albino to het albino" or "het albino to het albino" ? any help would be appreciated thanks
    1.0 Spider het ghost
    0.1 Pastel het ghost
    1.0 Normal
    1.1 Het Albino

    Likely hood of making the morph. Albino is a receive trait. and het means they carry the trait even if they look normal.

    you can use the punnett square to figure out odds of what you may get. where one side is the mom and one the dad. the trait if you have a full Albino would be given to everyone of the babies and if you have a het for the other some will be albino and some will be het for it. So with an albino and a het you have a 50% chance at albino and 50% chance at het for albino.
    So if you have 2 hets and breed them you can get an albino however that is only a 25% chance. 50% chance of het Albino and 25% normal. because of the way the trait is passed down.

    thanks for the input and the reference ive only been involved with bp's for 4 months now so im a baby in the world of genetics cant wait to grow up lol

    thanks again...im really excited about the genetic aspect of being a ball python owner..... cant wait to prove out what i have and climb the genetic ladder from there

    It's an awesome hobby to get into. Most of what I see people doing today is co-Dom to co-Doms whether it is supers or combos of co-doms it really seems like endless possibilities. Sometimes they layer a recessive in there as well. But it gets tricky unless you have a parent that is the trait. Otherwise it's a gamble.

    yea it is a gamble from what ive seen like with my spider het ghost male with my pastel het ghost female i hope to prove them out and make humblebees if not i will end up with just bumblebees and so on .....i have a ways to go with them the male is 627g and the female is only 487
