Do Ball Pythons need a UVB light?

Are lights really stressful to them? I had not had lights in my cages for a while and my ball had stopped eating, I just put lights back in my cages and my ball stopped his hunger strike as soon as he had a light cycle again... Or could it just be coincidence?

Mine have a light cycle. I have a reptile room and I use heavy curtains. They still get a natural light cycle although it never gets very bright in the room. When I say bright lights, I mean display brightness bulbs right on the snakes.
