Let me start out with a big congratulations,hatching out any monitor is no small feat.Which leads me to my next point.Using anything less then 12-18 inches of substrate is like playing with fire.Getting monitors to breed is not that hard,getting them to nest is what hinders most people.Monitors need to nest and nest deep.If they do not find a suitable nesting area they will hold the eggs and die.This is the problem we are having with the Indo monitors,no one know what they like.At least with Akies we know.Good luck in the the future and I hope to see many more from you,but remember they like it deep.
