Where do you guys put the probe for the humidity and temperature in the enclosure to get the right readings? In the back wall in middle of tank?

My thermometer has the humidity sensor inside of the base unit, so my humidity is actually measured on the cool side. Since I use tubs and belly heat only, the humidity stays pretty constant throughout the tub. I also have my water bowls near the center of the tubs. If you are using a taller enclosure or a tank with screen lid, I would place the humidity sensor somewhere closer to the bottom, maybe 2-3 inches above the substrate. This will give you the Relative Humidity of the air just above the substrate, which is where your snake will spend most of it's time, especially during the shed cycle.

I like to have a probe inside the hot hide and inside the cool hide. The humidity I take from about 1/2 way up the back (unless it is very tall an enclosure) and middle back. Humidity inside the hides will be a bit more than the ambient.
