What is your opinion of the yellowbelly pastel?
I'm seriously considering picking up a female yellowbelly pastel. They are really reasonably priced at between $300-400 for a double gene morph. I have always wanted some YBs to have a chance making an ivory, but YBs by themselves don't do much for me. I think this particular morph isn't drastically different from a pastel, but the right ones really look great.
I just wanted to hear some opinions for the potential of this morph. Let me know what you all think.

I'm planning on getting one myself. A pastel Yb has a lot of potential. You can make pastel ivories if bred just to a male yb. My goal is the pastel superstripe!

A nice yellow belly helps color, blush, flame and clean up almost all morphs. Even if they didn't make ivories they are still important snakes. Not only that but I still think they are just being tapped into. Have you seen a super stripe or a graphite? There's so much cool stuff out there for yellow bellies. I'm adding several females to my collection this year and hopefully a few double codoms yellow bellies.
Regards,
B

The super stripe is insane. A local breeder let me visit his house to see how he operates, he is in the middle of a lot of projects with his super stripes, amazing animals! The yellow belly gene does some wild things when combined with different morphs. I think I see one in my near future, I'm sold. Now to find one!

Yellow bellies are really nice anyway but a y/b pastel has to be a great animal for breeding from, apart from being a good looker in itself. I nearly got one earlier this year but in the end went for a super pastel as I already have a pair of yellow bellies.

my thoughts exactly. the yellowbelly itself isn't the most exciting morph, but they're extremely important given how much they can improve other morphs. good example is justin kobylka's pumpkin pied that he produced a few years ago. it's just a yellowbelly pied, but it stands head and shoulders above normal pieds. i would absolutely pick up the pastel yellowbelly.

Well if you dont like PYB in your collection you are missing a VERY nice colored morph .All i have to say is look at my male Samson and he should help you determine if you want one in your collection.

It is def a needed combo at some point, but as stated it all depends on the looks of the snake too.
