Turning heat off
Does anyone turn the heat tape off this time of year .I live in a cape and its 87to90 steady and even tho i have the Ac on i keep the door to the snake room

I dont have AC so yea i turned the UTh off for the day.

If your ambient temperature is in the mid 80's, there's no need for extra heat unless you've got gravid girls.

I don't live anywhere near as warm as you do I do run cool side heat however and during the summer I leave it be as it is on a t-stat the rarely comes on but if the temp dips some (ac catches up) it will click on to bump things up a bit.

I probably could, and would do it if it were in the house i used to be renting where the AC worked very poorly. but even when its 110 outside, my apartment stays pretty cool even with the AC off since everyone around me seems to blast theirs and i've got the shaded side of the complex.

In Durban in summer(east coast of South Africa) a lot of guys only run the heaters at night, but I guess the best option would be a thermostat set at the right temperature, that way you don't have to worry because the thermostat can regulate it for you.
