She may not be very nice, but she sure is purty!

Can't wait to see the babies in about 2 months!

    Amazing clutch!

How can you tell the girl is a pastel specter?
She was lighter as a new born or any other trics?

Thanks everybody. This one is going to be a long wait. Fortunately we have a few hundred hatchlings coming betweeen now and then, so hopefully they will keep me busy enough to not think about it.

    Matti,
I wish I could give you a firm answer on this, but it is not that easy. First of all, I had to trust the breeder. With that said, as a baby she looked very similar to a Pastel YB, she just didn't have the belly marker. I also have not looked at any other Pastel Het SS animals, but one thing I noticed with this girl, is that unlike most Pastel combos her mustache is not white, but bright yellow. Now, as an adult, she has taken on a different color than an adult Pastel YB. I will have to get a pick of a Pastel YB next to this girl for comparison. I do know that picking out the Pastel YB's from the Pastel Het SS babies can be very difficult, and hence the reason I bred to eliminate all doubt. It is impossible for me to produce any Het SS animals from this clutch. It makes it easy to ID the babies.

Nice pairing Tim! I'm also curious about specter when combined with other mutations. It's one of those that I can typically pick it out by itself, but it's subtle enough to be hard to see in combos. It was a good choice to pair her with the pastel ivory like that to avoid confusion in the offspring. Anyway, good luck on getting a super pastel superstripe! Can't wait to see when these start to hatch!
