I lost my Pied female (back when they cost around $3k). Actually, my wife lost it, during a cold February. She took several snakes to my son's school and when I met her at the school, the bag that was supposed to contain the Pied was empty. We were not sure where she lost it: house, car or school. I tore her Cooper Mini apart looking for it. I set a mouse in a cage in her car in the garage every night - no results. I was positive it was gone for good.

She was driving the car a month later and cranked up the radio. The vibration must have disturbed the snake and it dropped down on her feet. That female Pied is due to lay eggs in about three weeks.

I seem to recall an episode of snakebytes tv where Brian said (I think) that his founding pinstripe was loose and couldn't be found in their facility, but was eventually found tucked into the racks somewhere.

Its always entertaining to hear other peoples "lost it, found it" stories.

I remember that episode when brian was talking about that.

Its amazing you found the pied still in the car!!! Good luck with those eggs!

Now that's hilarious! Knock on wood....I've never had an escapee and hope to keep it that way.

I almost lost my little Spider girl. I had her in a 10 gallon when she was smaller. I keep the door closed in the snake room at night so kitty doesn't go messing around . I got up to get ready for work one morning and went to open the door to go potty (bathroom in snake room/office) and I felt something at my foot. I kinda brushed it a side gently. I thought it was a cat toy. I went a head a used the potty anyways by then I flicked the light on. I looked down on the floor were the door was and there was my baby girl laying there. I freaked out and picked her up to make sure she was ok. All I could thank about was what if I had stepped on her or what if the cat had hurt her. I was holding her the night before and when I put her back in the tank I was was running my mouth to hubby and didn't put the clamps on.

Well when i only had 2 snakes. 1 normal and 1 spider. My spider female escaped 3 times. you think i would learn but each time i found her wedged between the wall and her rack XD

I know this is not an expensive snake but i lost my corn snake for a day and found him in my camera bag later. my camera bag is tiny >.>
Then I'm tiny like a door mouse
    Short like a bungalow house
    Minute like a pixie
You can barely even see me

My first love Lilith.. sneaky little thing broke free when she was very wee snakie, it was the the coldest month of the year here in Maine (below zero F even in day and if it warmed it was single digits) couldn't find her it was feeding day she was tiny and it was cold. After 3 weeks I really thought she froze. Monday morning half asleep pulling my jeans on... something touches my foot.. i look down "Holy -expletive- a snake." Primal brain kicks in I jump back but all in the same thought I realize its MY snake and jump forward to grab her. I scared the absolute bejeezus out of her.. still totally surprised to this day she didn't just bite me for all flailing around and manhandling. She looked at me hungry and ate like a beast that night. She now is coming upon breeding size and is a happy thing.
