Talking Molt confirmed two females today!!!!!!!!

Well I had two unsexed tarantulas that I thought was looking girly from a ventral prospective and I got their first molts with me today and confirmed both to be female Both molts measured in at 2.5"

    Grammostola pulchra (Brazilian Black Beauty)

    Grammostola albopilosum (Honduran Curly hair)

The curly hair I could see with the naked eye but for the pulchra I needed a jewelers lupe to 100% confirm her for some reason even though they measured the same size The pics are kind of crappy but if you look and know what you are looking for you can see the flaps in the pics. You can see everything way eaiser in person but I took some pics anyways just for fun.

And this is the Jewelers Loupe set I use when I can't see with the naked eye (used to use a microscope but it broke because it was cheap)

Woo hoo! Christmas & birthday all rolled into one for you today! Congrats on confirming your two girls - those who don't keep T's may not understand that this can be every bit as cool as hitting your odds on a special clutch of ball pythons!!

    Nice job!

Thanks!! I will try my best to out line the flap you are looking at. The males will have NO flap there what so ever. There would simply be nothing there.

Here is a pic of the flap you are looking for on my Brachypelma smithi molt (she is bigger though then the two I just posted which is why it is eaiser to see hers)

Thanks!! I posted some pics trying to help show you what your looking for but it really is eaiser to see in person then pics. You can still see the flap (Spermathecae) in the pics but its kind of hard to see on these smaller ones if you don't know what you are looking for (because my pics of them are not the greatest).
