My python got bit while feeding

It was not bad. But the rats bottom teeth caught my snakes belly as he struck. And while he was finishing off the rat he started to dig the teeth in deeper. Which is when I grabbed the rats mouth, which was half in my snakes mouth and half on his belly, and removed the teeth from my snakes belly. My snake neber stoped or even acted like it was a problem. But he isnt going to tell me hey that hurt. What do I need to do to make sure all is well. I seen no blood. So I figured healing time would be fast. Im a newbie. Only had him for about 4 months and this is the first time this has happen.

I had this happen to one of my big girls. When feeding live I always watch them eat to make sure the rat doesnt get them. When the rat got miy girl there was blood. After eating I noticed a nice little cut on her lower jaw. I just kept an eye on her and she healed up fine on her own. Just make sure you monitor the snake and they should heal up on their own. Snakes are pretty resilient when it comes to this. Just make sure there is no swelling or signs of an infection and you should be fine.

As long as there are no puncture wounds, all is well. I feed live also. I keep chop sticks handy.

When I feed live, I have my :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r:ty little snake hook handy. It works great to restrain feet that are kicking/ scratching, and can even hold the mouth open if it is biting. They should market those :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r:ty zoo-med collapsible snake hooks as rat hooks instead!

No problem at all! Little stuff like that happens once in awhile and I've never seen any problems with any of mine especially if your temps and husbandry are where they should be. Given proper husbandry I think these snakes are quite a bit more hardy than some people believe they are.
