Importance of quarantine...

... Today i on my skin feel how Quarantine is important...

I got last Sunday This lovely young Striped House snake on the show... WC Import but nice snake...

Today checking on him i found 2 MITES !!!

in 4 years of keeping snakes I never ever have fracking mite problem !!!!

So I dropped RBI/Natural Chemistry Reptile Spray bomb in his Enclosure and will try order PAM (on Ebay unfortunately because of stupid NY law u cant buy it here and PAM distributor will not ship it here either)

My only concern is because I share this small apartment with another person I cant keep him in different room.

So he is in the same room as rest of my collection but on other side and from begging in different Quarantine enclosure..

How Big chances I have on mites infestation in rest of my collection??

And should I do prevention spraying with PAM of rest of my snakes enclosures just for holy peace ??

I had a wild caught ball python bought right out of the burlap shipping bag many years ago with mites and snake ticks. Her tank was about 5 feet from the other snake's tanks. I treated her on the day I got her and weekly for a couple of months. I hand picked the ticks. I saw the last of the mites the second week. No further mites and none of the other snakes got them. Either the snake gods were positively beaming down on me or mites aren't as catchy as some say they are. I always cared for her last--that's second nature with me because I'm a nurse. Maybe it was just my habit of working with anything with any sort of cootie last that saved me. Or sheer luck.

It couldn't hurt to treat all of the cages if for no other reason than you'll probably sleep better knowing that you have.
