    Feeding Dilemma...

Last night was feeding night. My Caulker Cay is in blue and usually he won't come out of his hide, so I just lay the feeder in his tub and he will eat sometime during the night. Last night, however, he came out of his hide while I was pre-scenting. I decided to do a little zombie dance and he didn't look like he was gonna go for it, so I laid the rat in his tub. As soon as I opened the tongs, he struck and constricted... the tongs. Since I had just opened the tongs he only latched on to one side of them, which means he was constricting the other side of the tongs down on his head. I did manage to snap one photo before I unwrapped him and got him back in his tub. I checked on him this morning and the rat was gone so I got one more photo. After a couple days of digestion, I'll get him out and get a better look inside his mouth to make sure it's ok. It just goes to show that something as routine as feeding is never really "routine".

My WT male bp did that a few months back but in my case he missed the rat and grabbed the thongs. I did checked his mouth a few days later and all was good. BTW, cool pics.
