    I tried your idea and it wasn't enough for my tub. Although we keep our place pretty cool in the winter to save on electric so it makes the room ambient temp 65ish.

    To raise the temps I placed some flexxwatt on the underside of the tub's lid. I posted a topic a while back asking if it would be safe and I got the go ahead to try it.

    Also, many blood breeders (I think Kara told me she did a while back, but don't quote me on that) keep their youngin's without a temperature gradient and their snakes do fine.
