I'd have to agree with Heather that she's not a spotnose. Those are some great looking Enchis for sure!

Re: New Clutch of what do I call these??

I know she isn't but I wish she was a spotnose! That would explain the colors and patterns. I was trying to give an example of what would best describe the way she looks. (Sorry my mistake in the description) That is why I wanted to show pictures of her ether way.

I was shocked to see an enchi produce hatchlings that are this bright and the orange and yellow that is no where close to what the enchi male looks like. I was looking for some reason that the whole clutch (5 eggs) would turn out like that.

The math just didn't add up with her being a Normal and a male enchi being a co-dom. I should have got at least half of the clutch as normals and half being enchi. So that is where I was looking at the female having some type of genetics to add to the enchi to answer why the clutch turned out like this.

Looking at that I am going to breed the male to another normal female and the female to another dominate male. To try and prove if the genetics are in the male or female or in both.

I was thinking of crossing her with a spider or a pinstripe with them being dominate mutations the pattern will be there or it wont. Worst case I get some normals and spiders or pinstripes.

Ether way I am so happy to have the hatchlings healthy bright and beautiful! I am for sure going to cross the females with pattern mutations and see what I get from them when they are breedable!

Thanks for the comments and the info! You guys are always a HUGE help!

    Thanks

Re: New Clutch of what do I call these??

well i don't know if i misread what put in your original post, but you said you bred her to a super enchi.

normal x Super enchi =all enchi babies

That pretty much explains why you didn't get any normals.

unless you meant 'super' enchi as in hes a super looker or something

Re: New Clutch of what do I call these?? Updated Pictures!

OK so I have some updated pictures. They don't do them justice as far as color goes.

In the reptile room light ... closer to true color ... but still not sunlight..

In the sun later in the evening....

Only changes to the images where cropping the image.

So the other two not pictured turned out to be noting more than simple run of the mill Enchis. These guys keep shifting the color on me so I wanted to post some updates.

    Thanks

Great looking enchis They almost look like supers themselves! Were me I would hold a pair back and breed them together see how awesome a super from the two would be! I would also throw the son back to mom instead of dad.
    Nothing

Re: New Clutch of what do I call these??

    Thanks!
I really wish I could get a better shot of them they really do look better than the picture.
I took one to Austin for a reptile show last weekend and even asked Bob Clark what he thought it was and he said it was a "Super Enchi crossed with ... I don't know something nice"
I told him I was going to cross the same pair again and see if I get more of them then breed the offspring from this year back to the parents next year to see what I got and he asked me to let him know what I got.

So this year will be a repeat of paring up the same two that produced these this year to try and make more.

Next year I will take the 2011's and breed them back to both of the parents to see what I get.

I will keep you guys posted!
    Thanks

    Mike

I will try to get one for you this weekend in full sun light... I am about to leave the house for a while so it may not be today.

She looks like a reduced pattern but has a STRANGE butterfly looking almost spot nose like head stamp.
    Thanks

    Mike
