Re: First clutch is official...all normals!

    Hi,

I really like those tail patterns too.

But one clutch doesn't mean she didn't prove out conclusively - you might have just got slayed on the odds.

I am also slightly puzzled by the line "looks to have been fathered by my het pied male" - can you expand on that?

Remember I threw in my pastel to get the het pied male going...haha. Anyhow, unless the odds were totally against me, I would have thought to have at the least one pastel out of the bunch if the pastel sired the clutch. I am definitely keeping 3 of the females so time will tell.

You should post some more pics of them after they shed! Especially some belly shots. With the tail markings that a couple of them have, it looks like you may have just gotten more hets? What are your plans for the girls that you plan on keeping?

The three girls I'm keeping are going to be bred back to the het pied, who knows, I man even have a pied to breed them to by then. I'm happy with them overall. 7 healthy babies is nothing to sniff at. Thanks Andrea.

Proven female breeder, proven incubator, and proven male breeder. Those three things alone make the whole clutch priceless.

    Regards,

Can we get a few more pics of the boy on the top left and the girl on the bottom right? They have really neat tail patterns.

Too many snakes to list. Ball pythons, Gtp's and Boa's. It easier to say it that way.

Actually, it is entirely possible that one or both males could have fathered the clutch and you still got all normals.

Remember any eggs fathered by the pastel, each one has a 50% chance of being a pastel. With a het pied, even if your girl is het the odds are even lower, only a 25% of being a pied, which means there is a 75% chance for each egg to be a visual normal.

Regardless of if she proves to be pied or not, those whacked out patterns make it worth repeating the pairing next season.

    Gale
    1.0 Low-white Pied - Yakul | 1.0 Granite het Pied - Nago
    1.0 Mojave - Okoto | 1.0 Vanilla - Kodama
    1.0 Pastel - Koroku | 1.0 Fire - Osa
    0.1 het Pied - Toki | 0.1 het Pied - Mauro
    0.1 Mojave - Kina | 0.1 Blushback Cinnamon - Kuri
    0.1 Fire - Mori | 0.1 Reduced Pinstripe - Sumi
    0.1 Pastel - Yuki | 0.1 Dinker Normal - Akashi
    0.1 Ghana Giant Normal - Tatari | 0.1 Dinker Normal - Kaiya
