I use foil tape to tape down the probe.

Like DellaF already said....hydrofarm! For the money they are the best. They don't have a night drop but if it's for belly heat does it really matter. I have four of them and 1 of them runs 2 tanks.

Use a ceramic heat emitter for heat and the light only for your viewing. You can control the che with a dimmer for the ambient heat.

This is how I set mine up and has worked so far although I don't use any lights and have taken many other members ideas and used them for the best setup.

once i got the uth i have only really used the lamp for viewing, and for pictures so that the flash doesn't reflect on the glass. i used it this time because i was afraid the heat would go too low. its off now though, uth is back on. i put it back on once everything got into the 70s....

still the humidity went back to HI%

is there a major difference between foil tape and duct tape? i only ask because i have duct tape and all the stores are closed right now

Can I ask you something ? Is the thermostat probe inside the tank next to the thermometer probe or on the outside against the hat mat ?

If you have it inside, that could be why your thermostat isn't turning down the heat mat like it should be.

I keep mine on the heat source outside of the enclosure, and mine works just fine. Maybe you could try that ?

its inside the enclosure. i will try that...how do u make it stay? with the foil tape?

my boyfriend came home and was able to keep an eye on parker for me to make sure he didnt escape while i ran in and out of the room to take care of the things in the tank. i took out a bunch of the reptibark and made it thinner on the warm side. i lined the bottom with newspaper on the warm side too. i placed the thermostat probe outside the tank on the heat source.... the thermostat shut itself off within a minute (at 90 degrees). the thermometer still reads the glass at 101 degrees. i also replaced the water in the bowl again and didnt put as much in, hopefully that will help with the humidity. my friend is coming over tomorrow with a temp gun so i can read the temp on the substrate and see how accurate my thermometer is. he's had his bp for a year and is the person who actually recommended the site to me. so he's going to personally check out my tank and make sure everything is all good. he's going to weigh parker too!!

Your humidity might spike because the water bowl is under the light and/or on top of the uth also, I just wanted to add never use tape inside your enclosure it can get stuck on snake and damage/scar/kill your pet

is it possible that the thermostat is regulating the pad, but the glass itself is conducting more heat? possibly the heat is getting trapped under the reptibark? it's down to 94/95 now, but i have it set below 90 on the thermostat.
ambient temp is at 74... humidity still HI%. i only have a small amount of water in the bowl, basically enough to drink if he needs it.
