So far 4 have pipped and 2 of those have fully emerged. All normals so far. I was hoping for at least one amel. I have a thing for amels. Two more to go. C'mon amels! At least least I know these are 100% hets. I can always breed them back later on and make a little bit of everything.
Hmm... We have really crappy lighting inside our house so we really couldn't get a good look at them. We could see the light brown/dark colors of thier heads when they first came out so we assumed normals. We took a quick picture, put them in thier tubs and have left them alone. Today we got a better look in natural sunlight...
Are my eyes decieving me or did we get 6 out of 6 anerys from this pairing? Only knew daddy to be het amel, which we didn't get this year, although he produced an amel last year.
Looks like a normal to me. Anerys have zero red or orange on them. On all the babies you can see red/orange towards their head. I hatched out some normals and one anery last summer and the anery was clearly black and white. I had a normal I thought might be anery but it had a little orange near its head and sure enough as it got a bit bigger and shed a few times, he colored up into a nice red/orange color. Yours will get more orange/red with age.
They are super cute! I love how big their eyes are in comparison to their heads. I like the one in the group picture all the way to the left, with his head facing down. His/her pattern is beautiful!
