Heat emitter vrs. Regular basking bulb

I have one of those 100 watt porcelain heat emitter bulbs and was wondering if it costs more in electricity to run then a regular 100 watt bulb would.

I would think same wattage would mean same cost?

Makes sense that they would use the same, but with the che you chose to use a dimmer or a thermostat you could. A light would be annoying to everyone on a thermostat.

you are correct 100 watts is 100 watts...I'm not sure of the difference in efficiency, though, if you choose to use a dimmer for them...maybe one would be cheaper running at the capacity that works for you?

Well I have the heat emitter already and it would defiantly be annoying to have light on a thermostat lol just wondering for my lizard tank I'm setting up.

Gonna get a savanna started in it and when i swap him to his adult cage I'm probably going to put a bearded dragon in there =D
