I have always noticed the unusual line running down his body on both sides but since the scales are normal unlike the scars by his tail I figured it was just normal.

Either way my family and I love him to death and he was a major stud during breeding. I am really interested to see what the spiders from his clutch end up looking like.

He does have a very bright gold/yellow base color to him, thats what made me think he was a bumblebee......and his mother was a pastel, so it will be interesting to see them in a few months.

Thanks you everyone for the comments and explaining him burn/scars. I am really glad I have him adn can give him a good life from now I on.

I think he is a lovely snake, but all that scar tissue and all those misshapen scales all over the body make me cringe. It makes me imagine what the poor guy must have went through !
Glad he is at a good home, now, though !!!

edited to say, and yes, he is still beautiful. He has character Deserves a good home just like any other snake, morph or not, perfect or not ! Enjoy him

Re: Showing off Phineas my weird bumblebee

a rat could definitely do that kind of damage...what could cause a burn like that if the snake wasnt laying on its sides while coiled? wrapping around a lamp would be unlikely too unless it was coiled sideways or something...i dunno.

Actually I believe snakes have stronger stomach acid than Humans.. they dissolve hair bones birds beaks... But i Agree that Looks more like heat combine with bites....

For OT happy that This poor thing have good life with You... When i look at him I see high white spider not bee but with that scaring and discoloration I could be wrong.... keep us posted with Your breeding results and good luck for you and him

I would also like to add, thats a spider, not a bee.

Im also glad to hear he didnt get burned during your care. When I saw pics of him in your other post I almost said a few things I would now regret knowing you didnt do that to him.

    What a lovely boy.

His scarring is severe, but I think it makes him that much more beautiful in his own way.

Whatever happened to him to make him look that way, he's got a loving owner now and a harem of his own, so what more could he ask for ?

Re: Showing off Phineas my weird bumblebee

i thought snakes coiled up ON the hot rocks like on their bellies...not around them
(picturing a female wrapping a bowl). but ok. i guess i can see that happening with a stone of sorts.
either way ouch! but glad he's got a good home.

Yep, hate to agree and break your heart, but it's a spider with horrible scarring. Likely from getting burnt since the scars are so uniform. A bee has a different head pattern and it's yellow.
