LAS VEGAS -- This is the UFC 132 live blog for Tito Ortiz vs. Ryan Bader, a light heavyweight bout on tonight's UFC pay-per-view at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Ortiz (15-8-1) has not won a fight since October 2006 and UFC president Dana White has said this is a must-win for Ortiz in order for him to continue fighting for the UFC. Bader (12-1) is coming off the first loss of his career in a submission fall to Jon Jones at UFC 126 in February.
Round 1: After a brief feeling-out period, Bader lands the first significant strike with an overhand right that catches Ortiz behind the ear. Ortiz steps in with a right of his own, but it's blocked. Short right hook by Ortiz drops Bader straight down. Ortiz jumps on him with elbows as Bader tries to sit up. Ortiz locks in the arm-in guillotine and squeezes with everything he's got. Bader can find no escape, and he's forced to tap. Tito Ortiz wins a big fight when he needed it most.
